About WIP

Worship in Pink®(WIP) is a service of East-West Church in Marietta, Georgia. For fourteen years, we have worked to raise funds to support early detection of breast cancers through screenings and genetic risk assessments.

Worship in Pink®, is our chance to spread the message that early detection is the key to survival.

Sunday, September 29, 2019 is dedicated to remembering those who have lost their battle with breast cancer, supporting those who are wip_post_imagefighting, and celebrate with those who are victorious. We show our support by wearing pink and raising funds to assist with early detection.

For the past seven years, we have exclusively committed to partnering with the WellStar Foundation, raising more than $92,000 to benefit WellStar Cobb Hospital and provide mammograms and genetic risk assessments for women in need through WellStar’s voucher program.

Most ‘Pink Campaigns’ seem to paper over what exactly we need to be aware of. After all, the disease itself is well known. More than 80% of breast cancer cases are discovered when the woman feels a lump and the earliest breast cancers are detected by a mammogram.

What we need to be aware of is the fact that mammograms are hard to get for many women and that for all the ‘awareness’ we see, there still isn’t a cure for Breast Cancer. This is where you can help.

Seeing pink ribbons everywhere isn’t enough to make anyone aware of the importance of early detection. It’s time to do something tangible to provide women with a basic test early enough to save their life!

Please join the Miles for Mammograms® Run/Walk and Worship In Pink® service to help fund mammograms through the WellStar Foundation
